Just one for today. Best run, a 51.5something. Good enough to beat all the oppo's handily, even beating a lurker in a Boxster by a decent margin. Other lurkers are a little faster...

I'm not sold on this helmet cam view. I had the camera up on top, it's...okay. I'm going back to windshield mount next time, I might pick up some keychain cameras and stick them all over for next season.

It should do it for you, but skip to 20ish seconds for the action, I didn't feel like editing the video before uploading.

This was the last PCA event of the year, there's two more SCCA events in November. Then I have a few months to get springs, a swaybar, and stickier tires for next season.

Thanks! There is one, and while it would certainly help its about $1000. I'd rather keep that $1000 in my future Corvette fund.

Springs and swaybar will be about $400 or so, which is still more than I'd like to spend but probably does more for me. I can even get a better set of tires and still spend less than I would on an LSD, and the combination of all 3 will probably shave 1-3 seconds off my times, which is enough to get me in the midst of the Boxsters.

And they both have worse power/weight ratios to my car.

WTF. They both have around 16lb/hp and I have 17.4lb/hp.

Of course, they have a 1000lb diet compared to my car, but only ~60hp less.

As I said multiple times today, power doesn't matter much at AutoX. Look at Monte and his 90hp, he trounced cars with 3 times as much power.

Also, check your units. 16 lb/hp is better than 17.4 lb/hp. You want a low weight/power and a high power/weight.

Whooo I should not be doing maths when this tired.

So they have *better* power-to-weight ratios. I feel better about myself now. For some reason I read "power to weight" as "units of power over units of weight" and then proceeded to type that into my calculator as weight-to-power.

Assuming that Renault weighs half of what my car weighs, which is about 1784 lbs, then it does actually have probably one of the worse power-to-weight ratios there. 19.82lb/hp.

I'm considering putting truck springs on and just dealing with the pogo effect. Maybe get some anti-pogo bushings or something, or welding up adaptors for another brand of strut.
